First Post

Okay, here goes nothing!! I"m jumping on the band wagon and filling out this blog... and it's all about me! I have no husband to post stupid things about, no kids who do exciting things... just things that happen in my day to day life!! HOORAY!

So to start, let me tell you about my bloody week! Now get your head out of weird thoughts and just pay attention. So last week I was working at Lake Shore Elementary School, and I also had two games for River. So, its Monday morning and things are just going smoothly! Afternoon recess rolls around and we are playing outside... Hannah initiates wheeling herself around in here wheelchair. She somehow wheels off the pavement and flies forward into the bark chips face first, wheelchair right on top of her!! We lift her up and her face is covered in bark chips bloody lip!! OH GREAT! Tuesday rolls around and I get through the school day with no blood. At the game against Evergreen, our catcher Bianca hits a hard one to the short stop. It knicks her glove and smashes her in the FACE!! Blood is instant and it is streaming down her face, hand, and arm!! Just great. It takes 25 minutes to get her off the field and off to the ER. Wednesday, again I get through the work day with no blood. We are playing Heritage and another HARD hit to the short stop. She comes up throwing and next thing we know she is running off the field with blood coming from her finger. She had ripped her nail completely off the bed!! GROSS. Thursday, it was a safe and clean day. No work and practice was easy. And then Friday rolls around... Oh Friday... I am still at Lake Shore Elementary and it has just been an off week with these students. Spring Break must have just got their internal balance all wrong. Things are going well... I take my student to the bathroom, we get snack, play, and do some work. On our second trip to the bathroom, he just loses his balance and his feet go one way and his head the other. He hits his head on the cabinet. Remaining calm, I help him up and try to calm him down. When he stands upright... it just gushes out! Like you would see in a bloody horror movie! Blood is just running down his head all over his shirt!! We get it to stop and his mother and father arrive to take him to the ER for stiches!!! Oh just great! A few hours later I switch classrooms. I'm in there for maybe 5 minutes. I sit on the floor and start playing. Next thing I know, Hannah has blood coming out of her MOUTH! She had aggravated a loose tooth. Oh man... what a week!!
